The short answer is yes, with the understanding that not all herbal drops are made the same way.
The safety of any herbal preparation depends on three things. The herb itself, the solvent used to carry it, and the concentration of the final product. At Bushcraft Organics, all three are considered carefully.
The herbs we use, chamomile and nettle, have centuries of documented use across multiple cultures and a strong modern safety record. Neither is associated with toxicity at normal supplemental doses. Neither interacts significantly with common medications at the concentrations found in a daily dropper dose, though anyone on prescription medication should check with their doctor as a matter of good practice.
The solvent we use is vegetable glycerin, USP grade. Glycerin is recognised as safe by food and pharmaceutical regulatory bodies globally. It is non-toxic, non-irritating, and actually beneficial for gut health at normal doses. There is no alcohol in our preparations, which removes the most common concern people have about daily tincture use.
The concentration is calibrated for daily use, not acute dosing. Two to three millilitres twice a day is the standard dose, designed to deliver consistent therapeutic levels of active compounds without accumulating to excess.
Herbal drops are not a replacement for medical care when medical care is needed. But as a daily wellness practice, they are one of the gentler, more considered ways to support your body over time. The key word is daily. Consistency is what turns a good herb into a meaningful practice.
